Ghana Circa’24

I pick my life like

glass from the floor

Pretend that you love my body

And I, your soul.

We kiss

and you tell me how

I am real

We walked

A pile of clothes

That had flowers,

I picked you like Lily

from the edge of the bed

That broke into a river of sorrow

I crept into you

Your space

And my grace

you devoured

Into believing

that I am

your water

Pool of blood

Gliding down my breast, you

Touch my pool and taste

it’s on your lips

The path of your breath

stared at me in ways

that I couldn’t believe

that I did not know

what to do with you
